About Anti Narcotics Force

Anti Narcotics Force, part of the Interior Ministry, is responsible for controlling the smuggling and illegal use of illegal drugs within Pakistan. It is owned by the Government of Pakistan. Ijaz Ahmed Shah, who has been the Minister of Narcotics Control (Pakistan) since December 2020, oversees AND on behalf of the Pakistan Army and the Pakistan Ministry of Narcotics Control.

The force’s head is a current general officer in the Pakistan Army due to a misconception of Section 4 of the ANF ACT 1997. Even though it is stated in the law that Director-Generals can be selected from among any colleagues. As Director-General of the Public Service Organization, Major general Arif Malik Hi(M) is currently deputed. Additionally, the ANF is responsible for coordinating and pursuing Pakistani drug investigations abroad.
